The story begins on a different note with first year teacher William Abrams (Jackson Geiger) walking on a new path to his classroom.

He introduces the class with an introduction, detailing some of his path before his new path of walking into classroom including his English origin.

Where do you go from there? 'Offbeat' presents the life of a teacher inside and outside the classroom, with his struggle to connect with his students and to keep his relationship with Eliza Mitchel (Alyssa Lang) strong within the conflict in both of their lives.
