In 2007, when I was 16 and moved to Norway, I got diagnosed with psychosis.
I never dared to tell anyone.
I was embarrassed and scared.
In 2011 the doctors found out that my problems were caused by something physical.
My friends and family were so happy, not because my symptoms were different, but because I didn’t have a psychiatric diagnosis. For me the fear of other peoples reaction was worse than having a psychiatric diagnosis.
By making this movie I hope that other people can get a better understanding of how it feels to be a psychiatric patient, and that others in the same situation can stop being afraid and ashamed. “Fear” is a visual, highly personal and poetic movie - a desire for acceptance and love.
