EARTH, VIDEO GAMES, PORT MANN BRIDGE starts off in outer space, recalling video games from my youth.
We pan over to Earth as seen from space, an image that stuck with me from the first time I saw a photo of the entire Earth as a child.
Zooming in to the old Port Mann Bridge, we find ourselves in 1964 as the bridge starts its lifespan and welcomes all types of cars and weather for the next 48 years.
In 2012 the old Port Mann Bridge was disassembled once a replacement span was functional.
Over 250,000 cars a day passed over the bridge, and it represents the connection of Vancouver with the rest of Canada via Highway 1.
All vehicles represented were owned by me or my family at some point.
