The Bio Series is a four-part web mini-series created by Los Angeles-based artist/filmmaker, Jamie Naqvi.
Somewhere between a documentary and a visual tone poem, this set of interconnected “mini-portraits” introduces us to four individuals and the historical contexts that frame their lives.
Made on a virtually zero budget, using a combination of public domain video, old family photographs, legally-licensed digital media, and originally shot footage, this experimental web series takes us on an engaging journey from pre-partition India and World War II Britain to war-torn 80s-era Iran and present day California.
