Payal Sethi studied film-making at Vassar College and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She has worked at Mira Nair's Mirabai Films, the Independent Feature Project and the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2008, she launched her own production and distribution company, FilmKaravan. Her short film, 'Grant St. Shaving Co.' is the winner of three international awards and has played at over a dozen festivals worldwide. 'Ooty Queen' is her debut feature, and she is currently developing two other feature projects set in India, 'Song for Noor' and 'Panther'.
