2014/USA/NR/10 min. "Sourdough," is a vernacular term originating in Alaska/Yukon Territory used to identify someone who has become grizzled by their time in the wilderness, with roots in the early northern gold rush culture.

Compiling home video footage (1992-2001), phone conversations and his travels home over the course of a summer in interior Alaska; filmmaker Kirk Rasmussen reflects on his childhood with father, Bruce Rasmussen. The film observes the interaction between person and place and the fragility of independence.
